A Welcome Back to Our Schools

Thank you to all of you who helped us welcome our students, teachers, and school staff, by creating and posting a sign in front of any of the schools before the first day of school. Our 2020 welcome back signs focused on encouragement, kindness, and support - then place them by the monument sign at any one of our Hudson schools.

This project has been approved by the schools and shared with the City of Hudson. More information below...

Making Signs

Signs should standard size (not to exceed 24”x 18”) and be able to be placed by hand. In order to protect landscaping, large posts or frames that must installed with hammers are not allowed. These signs can be made simply of poster board and taped to a wire yard sign frame.
We do have some free stakes available for you to use. These can be picked up at Edward Jones Investments, 325 Vine Street, on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Keep messages positive like:
  • You Got This!
  • Welcome Back!
  • We Love Our School!
  • Thank You Teachers!
  • HSD Staff Rocks!

Placing Signs

Signs should be placed by the large monument sign for each school to create a dynamic display without impeding visibility for drivers. At the High School, the signs can be placed along the berm between Vine Street and the pond.
Remember, we have several schools to choose from:
  • Holton Elementary
  • North Hudson Elementary
  • Willow River Elementary
  • Prairie Elementary
  • River Crest Elementary
  • Hudson Middle School
  • Hudson High School
  • St. Patrick School
  • Trinity School

Signs can be installed anytime on Sunday, Aug. 30, or Monday, Aug. 31, so our schools are greeted when they arrive on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The signs will be left up the entire week.
Community members who would like to retrieve their sign can collect them on Saturday, Sept. 5.
All remaining signs will be cleaned up by the Hudson Daybreak Rotary Club on Sunday, Sept. 6.
