"The Rotary way works! But Rotary has no patent on it, for it is but the Golden Rule in action. Any person, any nation, can apply it by displacing negative hatred and fear with goodwill based upon understanding.” – Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary
BIG news today - we've launched ourselves as a Golden Rule Rotary Club to focus on civility and rise above divisiveness. These efforts align with the spirit of Rotary that Paul Harris intended and our Rotary District 5960 theme this year: Make Peace Visible!

Going back to the beginning of these efforts, last spring, the Hudson Daybreak Rotary Club entered a process around Civility, Kindness, Understanding, and Respect. A group of 11 Rotarians met for 4 weeks, working together to better understand individual differences and what could cause "Flashpoints" in our club. The smaller committee kept moving forward with action items and tools for our members.

Through this work and the guidance of an incredible community leader, Larry Szyman, we launched our new initiative today. Hudson Daybreak Rotary Club is the first "Golden Rule" Rotary Club.

To honor Larry and his support throughout these efforts, we presented him with a Paul Harris Award, shown with our Foundation Chair, Mark Gherty. Our Club is doing BIG things in a positive way. Want to enhance opportunities for youth and help create a better community for all? Consider Hudson Daybreak Rotary!
